Q: I have received a download of Raster Image Well Logs via FTP. How do I use the logs.
A: FTP downloads are automatically loaded into the LogSleuth database:
- View logs with the MJ generated project under Log Purchases / Log Updates, or
- Create your own Project under the Project Folders, and search for the wells desired
Q: I have received an order of Raster Image Well Logs on CD - DVD.
How do I use the logs?
A:
- Insert Disk #1 of the Log Image Order
- Open LogSleuth
- Select Admin | Load MJ Well Definitions from the menu
- Browse to the CD - DVD, and load the .ls4 file
- View the logs with the MJ generated project under Log Purchases - Log Updates, or
- Create your own Project under the Project Folders, and search in the wells.
Q: I have installed LogSleuth on Vista, or Windows 7, and when I run it I get an exception error and it will not start.
A: On Vista and Windows 7 right click on the LogSleuth shortcut and select 'Run as Administrator' . You only need to do this the first time.
Q: How do I get data like TD, KB, tops and event data on to the logs?
A: You can import this data from many sources, or you can enter the data or pick the tops and events yourself.
Q: Will LogSleuth run on Windows 7 or Vista?
A: LogSleuth will run on Windows 7 (32 and 64) as well as Vista (32 and 64) and all other versions of Windows back to NT. If you do not have a current install CD, contact MJ and we can provide a replacement or a secure download.
Q: How do I use the logs in another software program?
A: Products like geoSCOUT, Petra, NeuraSection, NeuraLog, KINGDOM, GeoWebWorks and numerous others can access LogSleuth directly to obtain logs. LogSleuth can also export logs as industry standard image files.
